Pakistani Political Party Officials and Friends Visit Hubei University

On May 18, a delegation of senior officials from Pakistani political parties and friendly personages visited Hubei University. A welcome ceremony was held at the Sirui lecture hall of the University Conference Center. Liang Bihan, Director of Bureau I of International Department, Central Committee of CPC, Zhang Xiaomei, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’ s Government, Xie Hongxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hubei University,and Zhang Donghui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hubei University Committee and Vice President of Hubei University, attended the event. Representatives from relevant departments, faculty members and students also participated in the exchange activities.

Xie Hongxing extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed gratitude to the IDCPC and the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Province for their longstanding support for the University’ s development. He briefly introduced the University’ s profile and its achievements in educational exchanges and cooperation with Pakistan. He noted that Hubei University has maintained long-term and stable partnerships with nearly ten Pakistani universities, laying a solid foundation for further collaboration. Taking this visit as an opportunity, the University will continue to deepen practical cooperation with various sectors in Pakistan, contribute to the advancement of China-Pakistan friendship and cooperation, and play a greater role in promoting building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Zhang Xiaomei stated that Hubei and Pakistan have enjoyed a long history of friendly exchanges and close interactions. Fruitful outcomes have been achieved in such areas as high-level visits, higher education, agricultural science and technology, infrastructure development, people-to-people exchanges, and youth talent cultivation. Looking ahead, Hubei is willing to work closely with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, expand cooperation into broader fields and to a higher level, and jointly create new opportunities for common development.

Anusha Rahman Ahmad Khan, Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Commerce, remarked that Hubei holds a special place in the hearts of the Pakistani people. Quoting a well-known expression describing China-Pakistan friendship as “higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the oceans, sweeter than honey, and stronger than steel,” she expressed her hope that both sides would work together to make this friendship even more fruitful and meaningful. Syed Hussain Tariq, Chairman of the National Assembly Food Safety Committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party, noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. He highlighted the “iron-clad brotherhood” and “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” between the two countries and expressed his expectation for further achievements in bilateral exchanges and cooperation across various fields.
